According to the guy who maintained the javac port it stopped working after the first few beta releases of Netscape 3.0. You can look at kaffe port (but to actually compile Java I think you would need something like guavac which would in turn require gcc v.2.7...., have a look at http://www.redhat.com/linux-info/jolt/).
