Hi, I not too long ago installed FreeBSD 2.1.5 on my PC. While I'm
experienced with UNIX on dedicated UNIX platforms, this is my first
real foray into PC unix. I'm using the default compiler setup.

When I'm building new kernels, or doing compiling in general, every
so often gcc dies with an internal error in cc1, and indicates its
gotten a signal 6 from the kernel (sigabrt). Running the compile
again usually works fine (just picks up where it left off).

Is this a problem with gcc (which is 2.6.3 -- I've run this version
elsewhere without problems), a problem with freebsd, or something else?
I was thinking of installing a newer gcc (2.7.2.1), but didn't want to
take the time if this can be fixed in some other way. It dies with
this error between 2 and 10 times in a single kernel build...

I have 32 megs of memory and 97 megs of swap, and swapinfo indicates
I'm not using the swap at all...

Thanks in advance for any advice.
