I want to run a program that needs to allocate a large amount of space, but I don't seem to have the priviledge. I need about 18Mb of memory, the machine has got 32Mb. ulimit gives the information shown below. I suspect that I need to raise a global limit, but I could not find the right handle. If anyone could give me advise, I would be VERY, VERY grateful. Thanks, Joop Jansen $ ulimit -a core file size (blocks) 0 data seg size (kbytes) 16384 file size (blocks) unlimited max memory size (kbytes) 28884 stack size (kbytes) 512 cpu time (seconds) unlimited max user processes 40 pipe size (512 bytes) 1 open files 64 virtual memory (kbytes) 16896 $ ulimit -v 2000 ulimit: cannot raise limit: Invalid argument Sometimes a get a message about not being priviledged to do so. /\ /\ / / ______\ \ __/\/ /_____________________________________________________ \ \ / / / \ \ \/ \ /\/\ / \ Polderland, Language & Speech Technology / X \ | /\/ \/\ | P.O.
