I ignored the iomem address because these cards have no onboard RAM (the boot ROM is something else again, also missing in my case). I've never had a conflict here. If you're getting too many lags, try reducing mtu/mru to around 576. This is easier for a dial-up link to your ISP; about like downshifting from Ymodem to Xmodem to reduce packet size. As for FTP rates: over an internal subnet it should be pretty high unless the net is in heavy use. Going outside to the Internet, it all depends on how busy the various sections of backbone are that you're using, and how busy your accessed ftp site is at the time.
