Those messages are from your /usr/local/bin/inews, which identifies itself on the last line - it is apparently from some version of C news (and it is a shell script too), which may or may not be appropriate for you. If you have a local (i.e. no NNTP) C news installation it might be, and if so you have some configuration problem with that installation. Otherwise you need to pick up a so called "mini-inews" that talks NNTP to your News server somewhere (I believe there is one in the "nntp" package, wherever that lives these days).
