I too am new to FreeBSD, but I've managed to get it installed and set
up my accounts. I'm still dual-booting Win95 until I get more confident
and get some other things configured, like X :). I got my FreeBSD from
Walnut Creek, and it came with a book - you may try and contact them
for it. But it is very basic.

Most UNIX's are pretty alike (from my newbie perspective). I bought a
copy of 'Linux Unleashed' and am planning on using that as a reference.
I plan on keeping a notebook as I find differences between what it says
and how my FreeBSD system operates - I'll submit it as a FAQ when it
gets large enough to be useful. (perhaps some veteran out there could
tell me if this has already been done)
