The problem is that I don't know which parameters are ideal. Can someone help me? Here is the available information of the tape: Sony, DAT, DG90MAa, 90 m/295 feet, DDS, 4 mm I'm using as platform BSDI (dump) and Solaris 2.4 (ufsdump). Currently my two commands are: dump 0dsbfu 54000 13000 126 remote_tape filesystem ufsdump 0dbfu 54000 126 remote_tape filesystem I don't know if the parameters are good. BTW, does anyone know how much information I can put on such a tape? P.s.: I hope that 1) I don't post this to inappropriate newsgroups (if so, I'm sorry) 2) this is not a FAQ-question (any links to these are welcome) Please e-mail me too at wally@innet.be Wally
