I'm upgrading my system from an old 486DX33 to a PCI P133, and it's time
to toss my AHA1542CF SCSI controller in favor of a PCI card. Problem is
the AHA2940 is ridiculously expensive.

Does anybody out there know a good source for the inexpensive PCI SCSI
cards
from Symbios/NCR that I keep hearing about? I mean the version with the
SCSI BIOS on the card, not on the motherboard. I guess it would
probably
have a 53C815 on it, instead of the 53C810 (no BIOS support).

I'm also ditching NetBSD in favor of FreeBSD at the same time, so I need
something that is likely to work with FreeBSD.

Believe it or not, I actually designed most of the SCSI logic in the
53Cxxx series chips back when I worked for NCR. Now I can't even get
a card with one on it!

A URL or phone number would be appreciated.
