A few folks were using cgi scripts, but the vast majority were not. The biggest bottleneck during busy periods was never the processor, but the speed of the disk subsystem (BT-445 VLB SCSI-2 controller and 7200rpm Barracudas with 1mb cache each). I'm willing to bet the machine could take up to 700-800k hits as configured without any significant problems. The only change I'd think would be necessary would be increasing the RAM from 32mb to 64mb or 96mb. Serving web pages just doesn't require *that* much processor brawn.
