I've done some more work with this:

My current configuration is 2.1.5 and WIN95. PS mouse works
fine on WIN95, but fails (and hangs the keyboard) on 2.1.5
*when I start the X server*. It *is* probed correctly
on 2.1.5 and the keyboard works ok *until* starting the
X server. Serial mouse works fine on both OSs.

I also tried the PSM_NO_RESET option, to no avail.

I'd really appreciate any other ideas.

P.S.: the MB is a new Intel 440FX (I think) p6-200. Perhaps
a BIOS problem?
