I can mount a disk which has both audio and data, or just data, however I am unable to play audio cd's with any cdplayer I've tried. I've tried the following: workman, cdcontrol, cda, xmcd, xcd and xcdplayer. I always get the same errors. Inside cdcontrol I get an Input/ Output error everytime I try and play a cd although I can eject the cd. When I run workman and I attempt to play an audio track I get the following: Sep 16 22:17:51 taz /kernel: wcd0: cannot read audio disc Sep 16 22:17:51 taz /kernel: wcd0: cannot read audio disc Also, workman reports a total disk time of -12:-9. Pretty neat. What I'm puzzled by is the fact that I can mount the disk, but not play audio from it. Below is a LOOONG hardware list for this machine. Pentium 133 32 meg EDO RAM NCR PCI 53c810 SCSI controller 2 SCSI 2 harddisks 1 SCSI 2 dat tape drive Standard floppies Either on motherboard IDE controller or proprietary(included with cdrom) Panasonic(matsushita) ATAPI cdrom 5 disk changer. Model SQ-TC500N SB AWE 32 w/2 meg on it 3c509 combo ethernet card 9fx motion 531 The drive works perfectly in win95 and dos. In Freebsd it is detected on the controller and the system boots normally. Upon bootup I appear to be able to mount disks, but not play audio CD's. I'm not doing some bonehead maneuver of trying to play a mounted CD or something. I have successfully used ALL of the above players with my old SCSI 2 Toshiba 4x. I'm stumped. Has anyone been able to play audio CD's off of an IDE CDROM? Email or post here are both fine. James
