However, I have a few concerns. #1: I build ccd0 on a two-disk system with an interleave of 16. Admittedly, the disks were of different geometries, but from running a number of tests, the throughput/latency to /dev/ccd0c was 5%-10% SLOWER than to either /dev/sd0s1f or /dev/sd1s1f. #2: We backup using 'dump'. Unless I'm missing something, 'dump' doesn't work with the ccd device. Given these results, it seems better to go with intelligently-managed disks on different mount points, or get a real raid0 controller. -- Sean T.
