I'd reccomend just sending postscript files to another server that
deals with the printer properly and that has an lpr deamon for you to talk
to. my /etc/printcap ...
# @(#)printcap 5.3 (Berkeley) 6/30/90
#lp|local line printer:\
# :lp=/dev/lpt0:sd=/var/spool/output/lpd:lf=/var/log/lpd-errs:
laser|Laser Printer:\
:lf=/var/log/lpd-errs:rm=rsc-allen.urh.uiuc.edu:rp=laser
dot|Dot Printer:\
:lf=/var/log/lpd-errs:rm=rsc-allen.urh.uiuc.edu:rp=dot
laser and dot are local printer names I refer to, they're also the
names used on the remote server ... rm= the remote host with the lpr
deamon that I wish to use.
