It's a caddyless 4.4x (676 KB/s) SCSI-2 drive. I'm running it off of a Buslogic 445C (VLB) controller. Interesting miscellaneous side note: the eject button doesn't eject the disc while the file system on the CD is mounted. My previous drive was an NEC 55JD (manual caddy, 2x, SCSI-1) which I've had for two years (I think). It still "works" but has acquired a tendency to decide for itself whether and in what order to read the data from the disc.
