Date: 18 Sep 1996 12:13:12 -0600 Organization: ABWAM, Inc., full service ISP, voice: 1+ 303 730-6050 Lines: 14 Message-ID: <51pe3o$pfm@stout.entertain.com> References: <51mfvj$fel@hops.entertain.com> NNTP-Posting-Host: stout.entertain.com I previously described a problem with running FlexFax's sendfax command through a sendmail process. My problem was that sendfax was reporting that it couldn't figure out who the sendmail process was, and it would crash. I discovered that I did not have a 'daemon' entry in my passwd file (!$) on the fax server system, so sendmail (which had a UID of 1) couldn't get a valid getuid() call. Once I put the default account in (daemon), it worked fine. When all else fails, check your assumptions!
