I have a modem and an account with a service provider. I'm trying to use ppp to connect to the internet. I dial up with ppp and enter my login and password and I'm connected - I think. I then use another window to run ftp, but I can't access any ftp servers - it always says 'Host name lookup error'. Can you help me or point me to somewhere where I could find a solution to my problem. (I've tried to find a solution in the manual pages - but I just go round in circles - too many terms I don't understand) from Ian MacLarty (email im@pixie.co.za)
