In our case, we support a campus-wide network of Suns running Solaris 2.x (5 for the most part), and since we installed it last May, I'm yet to see any of our servers or workstations even mutter a complain not related to external events (such as a router going down and the like). They have proven very stable, with the servers running 24/7 and the workstations getting a fair percentage of usage most of the 24 hour period in a day. While I do not doubt the strenth of other OSs (I have also had the opportunity to BSDI 2.1 and Linux with favorable results), I do have a hard time doubting Solaris' reliability based on our experience.
