How? Date: 18 Nov 1992 13:14:15 +0100 Organization: Mentor Informatik, Denmark Lines: 40 Message-ID: <1edc2nINN3n0@bach.mentor.dk> NNTP-Posting-Host: bach.mentor.dk Keywords: 3c503 ethernet 386bsd I have a problem with the 3c503 ethernet card and 386bsd 0.1: No-matter what I do, I can't get it to work. This is what happens: [The steps below are all performed with all patches applied.] 1) The card is recognized by the probe function. ec0 address 02:60:8c:4d:ee:4f at 0x250 irq 9 on isa [I've even tried to move the card to interrupt 5 - but it didn't make any difference.] 2) I can use ifconfig to configure the ethernet address of the card ifconfig ec0 inet 130.227.32.11 [I have removed the dreadful 'printf("ecinit");' from if_ec.c, so no messages here :->] 3) netstat -i hangs! 4) ping any.machine.in.domain doesn't get through - neither from this machine, nor to the machine. The million dollar question now is: What happens here? What have I done wrong? Somebody else must be using this card; what have you done? -- tonny ----- Tonny Madsen, Mentor Informatik a/s, Fredens Torv 6, DK-8000 Arhus C, Denmark telephone: +45 86 20 13 33 telefax : +45 86 13 01 33 e-mail : tm@mentor.dk -- ----- Tonny Madsen, Mentor Informatik a/s, Fredens Torv 6, DK-8000 Arhus C, Denmark telephone: +45 86 20 13 33 telefax : +45 86 13 01 33 e-mail : tm@mentor.dk
