It sounds like it is probably a conflict in your PCI bus somewhere.
We are using a 2940UW and it is working great in BSDI.  You should
probably consult your motherboard manual and start disabling junk
until you can get it to work.  If you have any other PCI devices
installed, I would suggest removing them and see if you can get it to
boot.  Also, check your PCI settings in your BIOS.  I believe you want
the card to be in the master slot.
