There is a comp.unix.bsd.freebsd.misc group as well.

Looks ok.

Try replacing HISADDR with the default gateway, I don't think HISADDR will
automagically get replaced with the correct address.

Other than that it looks ok, and if it works as a normal dialup then it's
strange that it doesn't work dod.
