Comp. Serv. Lines: 22 Message-ID: <5240rv$hnd@news.cc.utah.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: inst.acs.utah.edu Summary: 2.1.5-release, xf386-3.2.1-s xterm and vi no longer cooperate Keywords: 2.1.5-release XFree86 xterm vi resize X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] Hi, 2.1.0 (installed from walnut creek cdrom) could resize an xterm and vi would detect the new size. You could resize the windows while in vi and it would redraw and detect the new dimensions dynamically. 2.1.5 (installed from walnut creek cdrom) no longer allows this. I've tried eval `resize` and finally wrote a script that sets the COLUMNS and LINES environment variables, clears out the TERMCAP and can get vi to fit the window. It won't do this while in vi in an xterm, I must get out and rerun this script (yuck). What happened? Any way to get the dynamic resizing back? thanks Lloyd M Caldwell lcaldwell@acs.utah.edu
