Look for the > directory check, and make it allow regular files, too. It's a one-liner. Is it really necessary to allow arbitrary file exports to boot a sun? I thought that you just used the bootpd to feed it a kernel then mounted your root directory normally over NFS. Of course, I've never tried this before, so I could be wrong.
