Date: 23 Sep 1996 16:52:48 GMT Organization: WingNET Internet Services Lines: 17 Message-ID: <526f90$mjf@eirene.wingnet.net> NNTP-Posting-Host: makrothumia.wingnet.net Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: Text/Plain; charset=US-ASCII X-Newsreader: WinVN 0.99.7 I have my login.conf set to use wide passwords. Here's a few lines from my login.conf file: full-default:\ :auth=passwd:widepasswords:minpasswordlen=10:\ :coredumpsize=infinity:\ etc. I've noticed, however, that if I log in with various names, I can type 8 characters of the password and *still* be authenticated. What gives? Am I missing something? Thanks for any and all help.
