(gif, jpeg, iff, bmp, whatever image -> ??? = gif or jpg, etc) image.???TM.gif (thumbnail of image.??? inlined in with directory index) .image.??? (file comment to be displayed near thumbnail in directory index) Now, all the thumbnails that are currently there were previously generated with the Amiga program gfxcon, invoked along the lines of "gfxcon image.??? to image.???TM.gif format gif boxfit 92 92" gfxcon then took the image and saved a scaled gif fitting wihin 92 x 92 pixels. Pretty good, but what Unix programs exist for me to do the same? (Or do I have to figure a way to send the jobs to my Amiga?) I figured xv should be able to do this, but I can't figure out how to just tell it to do at commandline. I don't want an x windows interface because I want to invoke this from within a perl script when the directory index files are created. Any ideas/suggestions/reccomendations for me? TIA!
