Procedure:

a) Put one ethernet card in the machine at a time, configure each one
   seperately with the setup disk supplied by the manufacturer (most of
   these setup programs can't handle 2 of the same type of ethernet cards
   in the machine at the same time).
b) Once done, put both cards back in the box together.
c) Duplicate the single ep0 line in the kernel config, make it ep1,
   adjust the values accordingly for the differnet IRQ etc of the second
   card.
d) Build your kernel, reboot and hopefully it'll find them as ep0 and
   ep1 and you have yourself one ethernet to ethernet router.

[Note, I think it's the 3c509 that has the driver listed as beta.  I built
 a machine at work like the above and the machine randomly panics at
 bootup 50% of the time.  However, once it has booted successly, it's fine,
 stays up no problem and doesn't panic.  Most strange. ;) ]
