I was a die-hard Linux user until a couple of months ago, when I listened to a Black Sabbath album and touched the face of God concurrently. Then I started using BSD:) BSD is plain better in terms of memory management / performance / stability. BSD does not support as much hardware as some of the Linux distributions, but alas, that's life. I have made certain to buy hardware that will run under BSD/Linux. The installation is geared toward those who understand partitioning, and UNIX. You might also notice that kernel configuration (hacking/recompiling) is ABSOLUTELY necessary if you want to get a kernel that does what you want it to (i.e. - CDROMs, QUOTA, etc). The Infomagic distribution is pretty good, for 2.1.0, but if you are interested in downloading the src/bin, that's up to you. HTH Nate nvp@nfic.com
