I have a system running freebsd w/ an etherexpress16 card in it. The system recognizes the card when it probes it during bootup, but two things happen that I haven't been able to find any information on. Right after the system finishes probing I get the error "ixintr without being inited!!". after that as the system is booting I get this text randomly displayed on the screen: "ix.cx.excesscollix.cx.heartbeatix.cx.excesscollix.cx.excesscollix" etc... Any help as to what this means would be greatly appreciated. 2. If I have an I.P of a.a.a.a, a default gateway of b.b.b.b, a primary DNS of c.c.c.c, and a secondary DNS of d.d.d.d, where do I put these and what else would I need to configure besides the netcard and an internet connection to get this system up and running on the internet. e.g. an ftp session. I'm very knowledgable about tcpip on microsoft platforms and how to set up a Microsoft networking domain (NT, Win95, WFW machines; I know, I know, Microsoft is a dirty word on this group), but unix seems to be getting the best of me on certain things. I didn't have any problem compiling the kernel or setting up accounts but I really need help with this. I'm also having problems getting Xfree86 to work. The xf86config setup went fine, but when I execute startx, i get the message "xinit: not found". I have "/usr/X11R6/bin" in my path statement in my .profile and I'm exporting the path in .profile. Thanks in advance, K. Rawlings rawlink@jlsc.wpafb.af.mil
