I am trying to run Wordperfect for SCO Unix on FreeBSD2.1.5 with the ibcs2 options enabled, but I get the error messages: bash# ./cdinst.SCO_S -test -display localhost:0.0 libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such device or address libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such device or address libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such device or address libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such device or address libsocket: open(/dev/socksys) failure: No such device or address Error: Can't open display: localhost:0.0 I have enabled COMPAT_IBCS2, SYSVSHM, SYSVSEM and SYSVMSG in the kernel and set up the files: lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 9 Sep 26 15:29 /dev/X0R -> /dev/null lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 7 Sep 26 15:29 /dev/nfsd -> socksys crw-rw-rw- 1 root wheel 2, 2 Sep 26 15:42 /dev/null crw-rw-rw- 1 root wheel 41, 0 Sep 26 15:29 /dev/socksys crw-rw-rw- 1 root wheel 41, 1 Sep 26 15:29 /dev/spx and lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 9 Sep 26 15:33 /compat/ibcs2/dev/X0R -> /dev/null lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 7 Sep 26 15:33 /compat/ibcs2/dev/nfsd -> socksys lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 9 Sep 26 15:33 /compat/ibcs2/dev/null -> /dev/null crw-rw-rw- 1 root wheel 41, 0 Sep 26 12:49 /compat/ibcs2/dev/socksys crw-rw-rw- 1 root wheel 41, 1 Sep 26 11:40 /compat/ibcs2/dev/spx (?!?) I have seen a brief mention of an SPX_HACK option somewhere, but it didn't specify whether this was a kernel option or what, and I can't find any reference to it in the kernel source. I've tried setting DISPLAY to localhost:0.0, :0.0, machine-name:0.0, etc, etc. Ok, here's the question - is it possible to run WordPerfect on 2.1.5, and if so can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong? Thanks muchly in advance.
