Subject: Creating a custom boot disk for thinkpads?

After searching archives, I know I have to rebuild the bootdisk with
a new kernel, but have not been able to find instructions on how to
do it. First choice is to ftp a bootdisk for the thinkpad, 2nd 
choice, how to I build the boot disk (I've already compiled a 
2.1.5 kernel with the necessary options).
