Try it some time. Yuck! The necessary files are scattered in several directories, so you just can't say "We'll delete this directory and NFS mount it from another system." I estimated the space requirements of a minimal system to be around 10 MB, which is much better than 45 MB (I have an 85 MB drive on this machine). Maybe I've been spoiled by (my opinion) better directory hierarchies. Something I'd like to point out about the install procedure. It lets me enter a partition size as low as 39 MB (or maybe it was 37), but the installation pukes if I use a partition size less than 45 MB. OK, I was bored this weekend, but I actually spent over 12 hours Saturday trying to determine the smallest partition size I could use. :-) When the installation instructions say 40 MB, they mean 40 MB for data. You have to add another 5 MB for swap. I don't remember how clearly that was pointed out in the instructions, but I figured I should mention it before somebody makes a mistake. -- Jim H. * * James L.
