Umm, this is the FreeBSD newssgroup.  Since you are using a commercial
OS you paid good money for why don't you call the tech support line you
paid for?  Just a thought....  They should be the most knowledgable.

It sounds like the server is not set up resolve the ip's.  Check the
resolv.conf....  Other than that, I don't know what to tell you as I
don't use BSDI.  I use FreeBSD.  :) Good luck!!
