Let me introduce myself. I am a newbie to freebsd, actually to Unix environment period. I purchase Fbsd because of the price (got the cd-rom on 2.1.5) and hope that the IRC and this newsgroup will be enough tech support to get me started. I have read throught few of the reply in the newsgroup and you seem too be the most knowledgeable and you answer is quite understandable. I hop you know mind my e-mail. I have a Dell Pentium Pro with 32 MB of Ram and 2 IDE drive. 8x IDE (atapi CD-ROM), adapter 2940 UW connected to my External Zip Drive, USR 28.8 ext, SB 32AWE, #9 Imagine Series II video card, 3com fastEthernet 10/100 baseT PCI NIC. First I understand that fbsd can't be install in an extended dos parition. here is mu current set up drive I - which is on my primary controller on the mother broad as a master (WD 2.5G) it is parition in the following way 1 - drive c: 400mb --> Primary Dos Partition (FAT) Win95 2 - drive e: 500mb --> Extended, logical (FAT) 3.- drive f: 500mb --> Extended, logical (FAT) 4.- drive g: 500mb --> Extended, logical (FAT) 5.- drive h: 500mb --> Extended, logical (FAT) 6. - drive i: 35 or so mb --> Extened, logical (FAT) drive 1 - which is on my primary controller on the mother board as a slave (Seagate Metalist 2.1G) it is parition in the following way 7 - drive d: 200mb --> Primary Dos Partition (FAT) WinNT 3.51 WS 8 - drive j: 500mb --> Extended, logical (FAT) WinNT 4.0 WS 9.- drive k: 500mb --> Extended, logical (FAT) 10.- drive l: 500mb --> Extended, logical (FAT) 11.- drive m: 310mb --> Extended, logical (FAT) I try to delete my logical partition (l, & m) under both fdisk and WinNT OS. and release the free space. When I did that, it delete my drive but never release my free space in my extended parition. ( try to get the 810mb out of my extended into a free space) Is that mean I have to take out my extended parition on drive 1 in order to remap my hd, or is there anyway?? Will this take out my primary in my drive 1 (drive d:) if i have to delete ( or remap) my extended partition on drive 1 Two Question
