Ltd. Lines: 22 Distribution: world Message-ID: <ZOLTAN.96Sep30223059@vackor.bendor.com.au> NNTP-Posting-Host: hutsg8p28.hutch.com.au I have a Wangtek 5525ES SCSI rev 1, 6F6 tape drive. The kernel recognises it and configures /dev/rst0 and /dev/st0. mt rewind and mt retension work fine, however, mt status reports: 7: unknown tape drive No program that wants to write to the tape succeeds, even mt eof results a whole load of 'illegal request: <lotsa hex dump>' responses. The tape is not write protected (and configured at boot time as 'density code 0x5, 512-byte blocks, write-enabled'. The it's NetBSD-1.1, by the way. Any help would be highly appreciated.
