There is no support for 'combo' cards in FreeBSD, so I can't recomment
*any* of them. Having said that I also don't see much of a need for
'combo' cards since you are generally only using one device, and if you
need both devices working the combo card won't work very well due to
interrupt loads anyway.

In checking prices, you can get a ethernet card + modem card cheaper
than you can get an ethernet/modem card anyway, and you'll end up with
better hardware (IMHO) in the end anyway.

Yep, it should work fine. You may need to comment out the a line in
/sys/i386/isa/psm.c in the probe routine for it to correctly find your
ThinkPad mouse. See the following snippet of code (this is from
-current).

        psm_poll_status(ioport);
        outb(ioport+PSM_CNTRL, PSM_AUX_TEST);
        psm_poll_status(ioport);
#if 0
        outb(ioport+PSM_CNTRL, 0xaa);
#endif
        c = inb(ioport+PSM_DATA);
        if(c & 0x04) {
/*              printf("PS/2 AUX mouse is not found\n");*/

Note the code inside #if 0;endif.
