Strange, I have never seen that. I used to be able to read and write just fine, except that now in 1.2beta the write always fails -- an Exabyte works with the same kernel. Have you configured your 5525ES to be SCSI2? If not, there's a Wangtek FAQ around c.p.scsi that tells you where to get the program that does this.
