Lines: 38 Howdee all... I have yet another question for the seemingly millions of gurus on this group.... I just decided that I would like to play around w/RCS on a larger scale and [for example] have my whole kernel build tree under RCS, so that when I apply non-mainline patches, I can easily start a new branch, and thus avoid doing large amounts of "cp blah.c blah.old; mv blah.orig blah.orig.old; mv blah.old blah.orig" type of things... Also, with RCS, I can hopefully also make out well with disk space, which lots of ".orig" and ".pl???" files are taking up... Now, my question is this: Is there any way to automate the checkout process on build?? I really don't want to have to check out all of the kernel tree before I decide to build it.... I have played with the make configuration files in /usr/share/mk, and gotten this to work on a small scale, but I thought I would ask for more info before I did something like trashed my whole kernel source tree.... So, if anyone is using this, or has a better way of doing things, please let me know... Thanks in advance for the input, Rafal /------------------------------------------------------------------------\ |You have had all that money can give you, but that wasn't enough...
