Help !

There seems to be lots of talk of gcc-2.3.1 on the group, but I cannot
the little sh*t to compile.

On a virgin 0.1 system with the 58 patches patch kit installed, I
unpack the gcc distribution (from prep) and type "configure i386-bsd"
and then type "make LANGUAGES=c".

First it fails with problems about including gvarargs.h etc, and putting
a hack in about #if __GNUC__ < 2 (or > 1 - I can't remember !), and then
it fails on compiling libgcc2.a using ./xgcc etc with messages like:

libgcc2.c:86: - something about bad character 47
libgcc2.c:86: - then rest of line ignored - first character (A)
libgcc2.c:88: - something about bad character 47
libgcc2.c:88: - then rest of line ignored - first character (N)

This is from memory - bear with me please.

Help please guys and girls.
