No and no.

Yep. and No.  In fact, lilo should be able to boot FreeBSD from the second
drive.  If it can't, FreeBSDs boot manager can, as can OS-BS (my favourite).

Good for you.  I must do this at some point too - see what people are
arguing about.... Although FreeBSD (IMHO) is better because of its
