Date: Wed, 2 Oct 1996 10:31:43 -0700 Organization: University of British Columbia Lines: 15 Message-ID: <19961002103143813473@port55.annex7.net.ubc.ca> NNTP-Posting-Host: port55.annex7.net.ubc.ca X-Newsreader: MacSOUP 2.2b3 In a posting on some mac newsgroup I picked up a rumour that a pre-release NetBSD may be running experimentally on a few 68LC040 Macs, including the LC 475/Quadra 605. A rampage of sundry BSD Web pages and a search of the user-survey database turned up only (1) the suggestion that such ('040, FPU-less) machines may well be supported some day and (2) a report that NetBSD is running satisfactorily on an LC 475 after substantial hardware modifications. It seems a full release of version 1.2 may be immanent -- will this, perhaps, run on an unmodified LC 475? Apologies if this is a FAQ whose answer I managed to miss. -- Bruce Bennett <bbennett@unixg.ubc.ca>
