I'm trying to convince him to install FreeBSD, but before he must be sure that the CD-ROM writer will be supported. Any chance that it may work with current support, or the command sets are just different? Note: I'm writing the model number from heart, so I may have altered it somehow. In any case, it is Philips and has a 2000 in the name. The SCSI controller reports it as "IMS", instead of Philips.
