'Fast-Start' QuickTime movies are standard 'flattened' movie files that have been 're-organized' for playback over the Internet (or corporate Intranets). Every QuickTime movie on the Internet should be converted to the 'Fast-Start' format. 'Fast-Start' movies allow persons to play QuickTime movies before the entire movie has downloaded (i.e. streamed playback). This streamed playback can be done through Digigami's CineWeb plug-ins for Navigator, through Navigator 3.0's native QuickTime plug-ins or anyone's elses QuickTime plug-in that is 'streaming' enabled. A 'Fast-Start' QuickTime movie is a non-proprietary format which can be played back in any standard QuickTime viewer just like regular QuickTime movies. ######################################################################## Digigami is looking for Unix Webmasters who have existing QuickTime movies and want the ability to convert existing and/or new movies to the 'Fast-Start' format directly on their Unix web servers. We are currently testing on the following platforms: OS Version CPU ------------------------------------------ SunOS 4.1.x SPARC Solaris 2.x SPARC BSDI 2.x Intel SGI 5.2+ MIPS DEC Ultrix V4.3 Alpha /? DEC OSF/1 V3.2 HP HP/UX (9000) Linux 1.2 Intel Ports to other Unix platforms are possible. Please send specific requests regarding ports to other platforms. ######################################################################## If you would like to be a beta tester for MovieScreamer, please do the following: 1) Go to the Digigami web site and read the MovieScreamer Info Sheet and the MovieScreamer Press Release to ensure that you wish to beta test our products. http://www.digigami.com http://www.digigami.com/MovieScreamer-info.html http://www.digigami.com/MovieScreamer-press-release.html 2) Submit the following information to <mailto:moviescreamer-beta-testers-request@digigami.com>: a) Your name b) Your e-mail address c) Your postal address d) the URL of your Web site (if any) e) Test platform operating system (SunOS , Solaris 2.4, Irix 5.3, etc) f) Test platform CPU: (Sun4/260, Sparc5, Intel 586/133 , SGI R5000, Dec Alpha 300Mhz .. , etc) g) Version(s) of Netscape Navigator that you are currently using: (Navigator 2.x Gold, 3.x Gold, etc.) h) Approximate number of QuickTime movies at your site that you would convert to 'Fast-Start' format i) Any other information that you feel is pertinent to beta testing MovieScreamer Thanks for your interest in being a beta tester for Digigami's MovieScreamer. ##################################################### -- MovieScreamer beta test program http://www.digigami.com mailto:moviescreamer-beta-testers-request@digigami.com
