I have a BSD installation problem.
First what I'm using:
486DX-33
20MB RAM
IDE Conner 420MB
IDE Quantum 1.2G
IDE 8x Goldstar CD-ROM
Here is the situation:
I've decide to go for a MS dos partition installation, since I
have all the free space. So, I'ved copied all the files from the
DISTS directory from the 2.1.5 FreeBSD CD to my D drive (1.2G)
and made a boot disk. I go into the install program.
I've decided to put BSD on my 1st Hard Drive (420MB). I've
already partitioned it as 100M DOS and the rest FreeBSD.
Win95 already resides on the DOS partition.
Next is the device label editior.
I am spliting FreeBSD partition into /, /usr, /var, and swap space.
Here is what the table looks like:
Mount
wd0s1 <none> 100MB Dos
wd02a / 32MB
wd02b <none> 50MB swap
wd02e /var 30MB
wd02f /usr 193MB
This is from the automatic selection.
Ok..I go through the selection of what kind of X installation I want
and the it begins to load.
The eventual error I get is
Error mounting
/dev/wd1s1 on /dos: Invalid
This is my 2nd Hard Drive (wd1) and it is partitioned as all
extended DOS
The boot manager is installed and when I try to boot BSD it cannot
find the kernal.
Can anyone help me out?
