ALso what is the difference between user ppp and kernel > ppp. I am setting my ppp to dial into my ISP. ppp is the iijppp program - the user-level ppp & uses the tun device. pppd is the kernel-level ppp and uses the ppp device. Each uses different config files. For dialing out, ppp is best because it allows dialup chat scripts. A lot of people prefer pppd for dialin, although I use ppp for both.
