The Java JDK has been ported to FreeBSD 2.2 (an even later version than what's available for Linux) and is in: ftp://freefall.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/LOCAL_PORTS/jdk102.tar.gz If you want to install a 2.2 SNAPshot, I'm building one tonite and should have it up on ftp.freebsd.org by tomorrow. 2. 2.2 also uses gcc 2.7.2.1 and supports guavac - I've seen several people talking about using it, though it evidently isn't in the ports collection yet (I'd expect that to happen soon). -- - Jordan Hubbard President, FreeBSD Project
