Hi,

I have ASUS's motherboard P55T2P4, with 64MB memory and SC-200 SCSI
controller. I am running 2.1.5 .

I am trying to install SMC 8416BT network card. I am having this problem
only with the ASUS's motherboard. I can use the same card with the other
motherboard I have without any problem. When I try to use it with ASUS's
motherbord I get following message on the console when I try to ping the
machine which has this SMC card.

ecpi /kernel: ed1: NIC memory corrupt - invalid packet length 4864

On the ASUS's motherboard when I run CMOS setup there is an option called
"PNP and PCI SETUP" in there I can set the ISA MEM block BASE address:

I am specifing 0xd800 with the block size of 16K (even though 8416 uses 8K).
I am also specifing the IRQ used by the card (IRQ 5) in the CMOS setup.

I have confiured the SMC card with folloing
I/O Base address: 280
IRQ; 5
RAM address: D800

Any idea what could be wrong in the setup?
What does the error message indicate?

Thanks for your help.
