I have a standard nec cdrom as master on the secondary ide and it is not recognized when i try to install with it using 2.1.5 release, when i boot with the 2.2 snap it is recognized and i get to the point where it is starting to copy files and it hangs with the hard disk light, and the cd light both on. it is recognized as the cd rom on wcd0 and as audio on wcd1 with unknown as second line, is there anyway to get my cd recognized without setting it as slave to primary controller? what do I need for source to recompile the kernal so it is recognized after I install, I only have 40 meg to work with on my dos partition to copy files to, but i can always download whatever I will need, however, please be specific, I am a newbie :) mailto:rayman@dimensional.com ignore address above, I am at work.
