Lines: 48 Message-ID: <53cjo1$9nf@scipio.cyberstore.ca> NNTP-Posting-Host: yvr-ppp-26.cyberstore.ca X-Newsreader: Forte Free Agent 1.0.82 I am having a bit of trouble getting my tape backup to work and I was hoping someone out there might be able to help me.. I have a p120 running freeBSD a conner tape drive an adaptec scsi card When I boot the messages.... aic0 at 0x340-0x35f irq 11 on isa aic0 waiting for scsi devices to settle (aic0:0:4:0): "ARCHIVE Python 28388-XXX 5.72" type 1 removable SCSI 2 st0(aic0:4:0): Sequential-Access density code 0x24, 512-byte blocks, write enabled all look right to me but then when I do ... dump 0uf /dev/erst0 /home I get.... DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Sun Oct (blah blah) DUMP: Date of last (blah blah) DUMP: Dumping /home to /dev/erst0 DUMP: bad sblock magic number DUMP: The ENTIRE dump is aborted. I get the same message when I try nrst0 or rst0 If I do scsi -f /dev/erst0 -p I get 0-7 SCIOCADDR: Inappropriate ioctl for device and then the tape ejects... If i do the above for nrst0 or rst0 I just get the inappropriate message and nothing happens. I'm really confused. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Wil Boucher.
