After removing the 'domain' line from my resolv.conf file my PPP connection seems to be adequately finding my ISP's DNS via the address configured in the resolv.conf. I still seem to have one problem however, I had to *manually* type the command 'add 0 0 HISADDR' to PPP in order to force the route to the host to be recognized. It appears that my ppp.linkup file, which contains the same 'add 0 0 HISADDR' (under the 'MYADDR:' label) either did not work correctly, or that the original route it indeed established at initial PPP connection time somehow timed out so that I had to subsequently execute this command manually. Any of your thoughts on any of this would be helpful if you feel you can help me. But thanks again for your timely and accurate original help.
