Rumor has it that some NIS capabilites will appear for BSDI 3.0, but there aren't any right now. I currently use rdist to keep things syncronized across machines and it works fine. The syntax for the configuration file is very easy if you've ever used Makefiles, and the man page is pretty good. -paul dawson-schmidt
