The reason that old BIOS proms make no difference fo rlarge drives is that Under FreeBSD the bios is not used.. (I know I wrote the driver, ok?) The board has NO IDEA what commands we are sending to the drive so it can't possibly make a difference.. on booting teh bios is used, but if you never ask it to go far into the disk it never hits it's limit. julian
